Scott Conant, Todd English, Robbin Haas, François Payard, Jonathan Waxman and others top chefs, along with top vintners join members of the Florida Marlins, Miami Dolphins, Florida Panthers and Miami Heat teams as they take to the historic Biltmore Hotel’s par-71 championship golf course. Hosts executive chef Cindy Hutson and Delius Shirley, co-owners of Ortanique on the Mile in Coral Gables, along with co-sponsor Florida Restaurant Association, invite you to tee-off in style on what promises to be a glorious day of sport and gastronomy.

Celebrated wine authority and master sommelier Andrea Immer is joined by chef Allen Susser (Chef Allen’s, Aventura), the acclaimed father of New World cuisine, as the expert twosome gives the lowdown on pairing wines with the hot and spicy foods of South Florida. Susser’s own delicacies will provide the exciting foundation against which a variety of wines will be taste tested.

The South Beach Wine & Food Festival this year presents its signature event on successive afternoons. Myriad activities will compete for attention in the OleoMed Grand Tasting Village. Appearing over the weekend in the KitchenAid Demonstration Tent will be Food Network chefs Emeril Lagasse, Alton Brown, Tyler Florence and Rachael Ray, to name just a few of the scheduled all-stars, while at every turn the tastes of the good life will flow freely. Between samples of haute cuisine, top-shelf wines and spirits—including sips from featured winery Beringer Blass Wine Estates—in the Target Grand Tasting Tent, visit with TV hosts Andrea Immer in the Fine Living Network Pavilion or check out all manner of kitchen gadgets, the newest cookbooks, Festival merchandise and more. Alternatively, sharpen your skills with an informative cocktail clinic or relax in the Bailey’s Courtyard.

Saturday’s Grand Tasting brings together representatives of some 150 of the world’s finest wines, spirits and bottled waters as they offer generous sips of their precious wares while Barilla, the Italian food company, brings the best of Italian gastronomy all the way from Parma, Italy, as they prepare authentic dishes from various regions throughout Italy.

Your wish is our command at these five dinners to remember, each crafted by celebrity chefs and accompanied by appropriately luxurious wines. In a reprise of Saturday’s session, celebrated wine authority and master sommelier Andrea Immer is joined by chef Cindy Hutson (Ortanique on the Mile, Coral Gables) as they investigate a potentially winning combination: the zesty, fiery foods of South Florida and the wines that flawlessly complement their flavors. Hutson’s own creations will provide a delectable base against which a variety of wines will be taste tested.

Festival hosts Florida International University and Southern Wine & Spirits of Florida pop the corks to honor leaders in the food and wine industry. Award-winning Todd English (Olives, Figs, Kingfish Hall, Boston) will serve up a bountiful, mouth-watering family-style spread-accented by Gaja Wines, some of the most delicious and sought-after in the world – immediately following a casual welcome reception presented by Festival sponsor Barilla. The eminently entertaining stage screen actress and health book author Marilu Henner will serve as master of ceremonies.
