Description

You simply can’t chronicle the history of Miami’s culinary community without mentioning Hy Yong, arguably one of the city’s most beloved institutions – culinary or otherwise. Devotees of the restaurant will agree that the beating heart of Hy Yong is, as it always has been, the three women who created it: Tung Nguyen, Lyn Nguyen, and Kathy Manning. For this incredible SOBEWFF® master class, a small but lucky group will get the chance to join the formidable trio as they teach you how to recreate their signature pork rolling cakes – or bánh cuốn – at home. Learn their insider tips and tricks for preparing these savory Vietnamese cakes, along with the remarkable story that formed the basis for their profoundly moving memoir, Mango and Peppercorns. Taking place at The Real Food Academy, Miami’s preeminent destination for personalized cooking classes, this interactive class will guide you through the fragrant flavors of Vietnamese cooking and by the end of it, you will have learned how to prepare and serve your new favorite dinner party dish.
