We’re teaming up with 1-800-Lucky for this special mixology lesson, inspired by the pan-Asian offerings and cool hip hop vibe of the 10,000-square-foot food hall/karaoke lounge located in Wynwood, Miami. 1-800-Lucky’s own resident mixologist, Paige Diehl, will join forces with everyone’s favorite drink maestro - and Sip with #SOBEWFF Emcee - Gio Gutierrez aka @ChatChowTV, to walk you through the creation of the eclectic, Asian-inspired cocktails that Diehl and 1-800-Lucky are known for. Gutierrez and Diehl will be joined by Areina Thomas, Bacardi’s Senior Portfolio Ambassador, to drop knowledge on all things Bacardi portfolio. Sip along on your homemade libations featuring spirits from the Bacardi portfolio, as our resident DJ, DJ Danny Stern, spins your favorite old school hip hop beats. Join the party as Diehl and Gutierrez broadcast live from SGWS Wynwood, to remix traditional drinks into cocktails that are bursting with flavor and flow!

  • INGREDIENTS
    • 1 CAN LYCHEES IN SYRUP
  • PREPARATION
    • IN A BLENDER, PURÉE THE LYCHEES WITH THE SIMPLE SYRUP FROM THE CAN (AN IMMERSION BLENDER WORKS GREAT FOR THIS).
    • STRAIN THE PULP WITH A FINE MESH STRAINER, PUSHING THE PURÉE THROUGH WITH A RUBBER SPATULA.
    • RESERVE 1 OUNCE OF THE MIXTURE FOR THIS RECIPE AND STORE THE REMAINDER IN THE REFRIGERATOR IN A TIGHTLY SEALED CONTAINER.

DIRECTIONS

  1. IN A SHAKER, MUDDLE ONE (1) THAI CHILI UNTIL THE SEEDS SPILL.

What if I don’t have one of the ingredients or need to make a substitution because of dietary restrictions?

We know you are creating drinks with what you have at home, and therefore may need to make substitutions. If you have any questions on substitutions or modifications before the class, please don’t hesitate to reach out to sip@sobewff.org.

What can I do to make sure I’m best prepared for class?

Will I get to speak to the host and guest mixologist?

Please ask as many questions as you’d like via the chat function within Zoom. If you are selected to ask a question after the drink is created, the moderator will unmute you. We will do our best to get to every question.

How long is each class?

Each Sips with #SOBEWFF class is approximately 45 - 60 minutes. The host and guest mixologist will lead you through about 30 - 45 minutes of drink-making. The last 15 minutes will be a Q&A session with the host and guest mixologist.

What can I expect from a Sip with #SOBEWFF class?

At your scheduled class time, you will enter a virtual classroom via the Zoom link provided. The host and guest mixologist will guide you step-by-step through a recipe, answering questions along the way with the help of our moderator. At the end of the session, there will be a 15-minute Q&A session with the host and guest mixologist.
