Alexia and Rhys Gawlak
Swine & Sons is an award-winning, counter service restaurant and caterer located in historic Winter Park, Florida – specializing in scratch-made sandwiches, burgers, and sides that are just dang delicious.
Swine & Sons owners Alexia & Rhys have been a part of the Orlando culinary community for two decades. They met while working at Dexter’s Thornton Park when Alexia worked for Rhys. He ended up firing her, but not before she challenged him to attend culinary school in New York.
Both attended The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park before heading back to Florida. From NYC’s Nobu and Bond Street to Winter Park’s Luma on Park and The Ravenous Pig, the Gawlaks worked alongside some of the most prominent culinary talent in New York, Orlando, and Winter Park before opening Swine & Sons in 2015.
What started as a provisions market & craft butcher has transformed into a locally loved and nationally recognized counter service restaurant and caterer making dang good sandwiches, burgers, salads, and everything in between. In 2020, the Gawlaks appeared (and won) on an episode of Guys’ Grocery Games putting their Hot Chicken sandwich on the map. As recent Michelin Bib Gourmand award winners, Swine & Sons is here for the long haul.
