Born and raised in the Hamptons of Long Island New York, Gregg was not shy to the fact that food and catering was a big part of the summer season in the Hamptons. Being brought up in a big Italian family food played an important part in his daily life. Gregg took his first strive working front of the house, quickly being drawn out and into the kitchen life at one of the top restaurants in the Hamptons, The Stone Creek Inn. After leaving his mark there, he was drawn to the up and coming scenes in miami. Taking over Art Basel in 2018 with his talented street artist brother Skott Marsi, Gregg ended up staying landing a job at KYU miami with good friend and mentor Raheem sealy at the time. To evolving into his passion project and dream Gregg and Geroge created Yakitori Boyz.
Born and raised in Florida George has miami heritage through out his whole body. Growing up in a similar life style as his fellow partner Gregg. George was heavily influenced by his Ecuadorian family. Sharing similar bonds with Gregg. George receiving his chops from local mom and pop restaurants to larger local chain restaurants, he would end up at kyu where he met Gregg. During covid 2020 they both lost their jobs for some time and the Boyz took a drawn to Japanese culture and street food. Hence Yakitori Boyz was created. The bond over common up bringing and similar taste and styles, they would start in a old parking lot in wynwood cooking for friends and family. Over the course of two years the Boyz grew and expanded into what they are today. They stand there ground on being consistent and the most traditional style of Japanese street food with of course there unique flair. From catering to Smorgasburg miami, the boys hope and expand into a brick and motor. Serving up late night bar snacks,Yakitori, Japanese inspired tapas.
When Gregg and Geroge aren’t skewering the finest meats and cooking up a storm they enjoy their time by eating at their favorite local miami restaurants and bonding over street wear clothing and lifestyle. Or taking spontaneous trips around the country.
