Jill Jahn
Jill Jahn- I grew up in the Florida Keys; fishing, lobstering, and shrimping. I’ve always had a love for being out on the water and making use of those resources. Having access to the bountiful stockpile of fresh seafood has always made me feel blessed. However, my greatest passion by far, is cooking. When I was 20 years old my amazing parents set me up with my own restaurant, Squid Row. After 12 years, and three children I decided to sell to one of our employees so I could finally be a stay at home mom. Over the next 8 years, the building went through three owners and I ended up getting the restaurant back. By then all my children were in school and I was ready for round two. My older children, Morgan and Ryan recruited all of their high school friends to help get us started. I had contacted my kitchen manager from Squid Row, Odin, and we pulled a team together. That’s how The Islamorada Shrimp Shack was born. It’s truly a family business. Ten years later, and several staff members (my non-biological family) are still with me. My high school friend, Angela, joined me 8 years ago and is my FOH rock! I’m so blessed to have such a phenomenal staff, it’s 100% the key to success. My youngest son, Reece, hosts and is learning to serve. My older son, Ryan, caters, fills in for cooks and servers, and runs a boat rental company. My daughter, Morgan, left us last year to open up her own place, Islamorada Wine Co. just down the road. (Proud Momma)
