Born in Canada, James Weinlein found his passion for cooking at a young age, while participating in ProStart competitions through his high school culinary program. Thereafter, Weinlein went on to get his Bachelor’s Degree at Johnson and Wales University. Following graduation, Weinlein found himself working alongside some of the best chef-driven restaurants in Miami, including Azul, Alter, Stubborn Seed & Hiden. Over the Pandemic, Weinlein retreated into working and traveling privately for up-scale clientele for approximately three years before finding himself back in Miami with the leading North American lifestyle hospitality group, INK Entertainment. Chef Weinlein currently upholds the position as Executive Chef for the hospitality group’s newest Italian restaurant, Sofia Design District.
