Jared Bennett
bartaco Director of Culinary Standards, Chef Jared Bennett is approaching his 21st year in the hospitality industry. During his teenage years, he started working the garde manger station at the restaurant his cousin managed, and at that moment he knew immediately he had a passion for the restaurant industry. From large restaurant groups, to mom and pop’s, and hotels, he spent a short amount of time in many places learning and developing. Bennett’s two longest experiences were with Roy’s Restaurant – an upscale Hawaiian based group – for almost four years, and now with bartaco for over six. Being from Florida, he credits most of his inspiration to Southern and Latin cuisine. However, Bennett had never worked professionally in a place that drew its inspirations from Brazil, Uruguay, and southern California; and for that reason, bartaco was intriguing. He first started as a Sous Chef for bartaco’s Hyde Park location, over time working his way into the Executive Chef role, eventually to Regional Executive Chef, and now Director of Culinary Standards.
