Peter Campbell
Peter Campbell and wife, Jacquie, have been running Red Wagon Pizza Company since 2012. Starting as a mobile operation building a robust fan-base from their regular perch at The Linden Hills Farmer’s Market. Peter and Jacquie opened the doors to their 50 seat restaurant in 2014. A vintage black-and-white photograph dominates one of the warm gray walls at the restaurant. It’s a picture of Peter’s grandfather, enjoying his homemade pizza with his wife and three daughters. One of those little girls with ringlets and bright eyes is Barb Campbell, Peter’s understandably proud mother, “Peter & Jacquie are making their dream come true, but it’s a dream that this family has been living for generations. Food really is one of the ways we show our love.”
Now, that family tradition has taken Peter everywhere from slinging pies at the local farmer’s market with his mobile wood-fired oven to multiple television appearances on the Food Network. Since opening in 2014, Campbell has appeared on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives (2016), Guy’s Grocery Games (2017 & 2018), Andrew Zimmern Cooks (2018), DDD Takeout (2020) and most recently on GGG: Delivery (2021). In 2020, Red Wagon began shipping bake-at-home pizzas nationwide via Goldbelly and, in 2021, Campbell launched an interactive cooking class called Pizza with Pete. Continuing to create a deeper more meaningful connection with people through pizza and hospitality remains Campbell’s definition of true success.
