Reece Ellis
Chef Reece Ellis was introduced to cooking by watching his Grandmother; she would visit every year from England and would bring the savory and spicy tastes from her homeland of Jamaica and blend with the flavors of America, that he called home. This experience was nestled in the corners of his mind but led to an unconventional academic journey in Norfolk Virginia where he began pursuing a degree in Engineering. However, the longing to be creative in the kitchen never left him. After a year, he decided to pursue his passion and become a Chef.
Reece switched on his cooking dream in his parents’ kitchen for friends and family, then decided to pursue a degree in Culinary Arts. The academic pursuits allowed for a more diverse creative experience in the kitchen including, French and Italian cuisine, to name a few. In all his culinary creations, he infuses Jamaica for spice, America for variety and France for the presentation.
Reece then started his culinary career cooking with the Krazy Vegan almost a year ago, infusing creative tastes with the plant-based ingredients, while considering the benefits to the environment and the human body. He considers himself a transitional Vegan. In November ’21, the Krazy Vegan, won the 2021 Burger Battle, the creation and implementation of Reece himself : a delicious burger with a sweet and spicy twist, while tantalizing the palette with a variety of textures.
He considers himself a developing and learning Chef, who continues to search for new ways of tantalizing the taste buds of his guests.
