Join Miguel Soto Rincon from The Wilder in Fort Lauderdale, FL as he shows off the adventurous and bold libation creations that The Wilder is renowned for. For this special class, Soto Rincon will team up with another individual that always dials up the creativity, host Gio Gutierrez, to teach viewers the art of making and shaking the perfect craft cocktail. Gutierrez and Soto Rincon will be joined by Areina Thomas, Bacardi’s Senior Portfolio Ambassador, to share her knowledge and educate us on all things Bacardi portfolio.

ROOIBOS RED TEA-INFUSED PEDRO XIMÉNEZ SHERRY (PREPARE IN ADVANCE OF CLASS)

  • INGREDIENTS
    • 8 OUNCES PEDRO XIMÉNEZ SHERRY
    • 2 TABLESPOONS ROOIBOS RED LOOSE-LEAF TEA
  • PREPARATION
    • IN A SMALL SAUCEPAN, HEAT THE PEDRO XIMÉNEZ SHERRY AND LOOSE-LEAF TEA ON MEDIUM LOW. COOK FOR 5 MINUTES.
    • LET COOL SLIGHTLY BEFORE POURING THE MIXTURE INTO A CONTAINER. REFRIGERATE FOR AN HOUR, THEN DOUBLE STRAIN.

AROMATIC BITTERS INFUSED WITH COFFEE AND COCONUT (PREPARE IN ADVANCE OF CLASS)

  • INGREDIENTS
    • 6 OUNCES WHOLE COFFEE BEANS
    • 2 OUNCES ORGANIC COCONUT EXTRACT
    • 8 OUNCES AROMATIC BITTERS
  • PREPARATION
    • POUR THE COFFEE BEANS, COCONUT EXTRACT, AND BITTERS INTO A 10-12 OUNCE MASON JAR.
    • PLACE THE MASON JAR IN A COOL, DARK PLACE FOR 24 HOURS, SHAKING THE MIXTURE OCCASIONALLY DURING THIS TIME PERIOD.
    • ONCE THE 24 HOURS HAS ELAPSED, DOUBLE STRAIN THE MIXTURE.

  1. ADD THE INGREDIENTS TO THE SMALL TIN OF YOUR SHAKER SET.

What if I don’t have one of the ingredients or need to make a substitution because of dietary restrictions?

We know you are creating drinks with what you have at home, and therefore may need to make substitutions. If you have any questions on substitutions or modifications before the class, please don’t hesitate to reach out to sip@sobewff.org.

What can I do to make sure I’m best prepared for class?

Will I get to speak to the host and guest mixologist?

Please ask as many questions as you’d like via the chat function within Zoom. If you are selected to ask a question after the drink is created, the moderator will unmute you. We will do our best to get to every question.

How long is each class?

Each Sips with #SOBEWFF class is approximately 45 - 60 minutes. The host and guest mixologist will lead you through about 30 - 45 minutes of drink-making. The last 15 minutes will be a Q&A session with the host and guest mixologist.

What can I expect from a Sip with #SOBEWFF class?

At your scheduled class time, you will enter a virtual classroom via the Zoom link provided. The host and guest mixologist will guide you step-by-step through a recipe, answering questions along the way with the help of our moderator. At the end of the session, there will be a 15-minute Q&A session with the host and guest mixologist.
