Alexander Chi is industry veteran of 15 years working across Asian, Italian, French, and American cuisines. Over the years he has worked in some of Miami’s top kitchens, including the Fontainebleau Miami Beach, Makoto, and Florida Cookery. Those early experiences built his foundation in technique, discipline, and the ability to handle high-volume, high-standard service.
For the past four years, Chef Alexander been part of Groot Hospitality. There he has taken on major roles in some of the group’s most dynamic concepts. Chef Alexander first joined Groot for an izakaya concept on South Beach and then was named the opening executive chef of Gekkō Miami. Currently he is the executive chef of Komodo Miami, where he continues to lead, mentor, and push for excellence every day.
Throughout his career Chef Alexander has developed a leadership style rooted in organization, calm under pressure, and hands-on mentorship. His cooking style focuses on clean, bold flavors supported by solid technique, and takes pride in running an efficient, disciplined kitchen. Every restaurant he has a been part of he has helped shape the chef he is today, and remains committed to improving his craft and delivering the best possible experience to all guests.
