Chef Ivan Barros is a celebrated culinary innovator known for blending bold flavors with refined technique. A Miami native with Dominican roots, Barros has honed his craft in some of the country’s most acclaimed kitchens, from Scarpetta and Macchialina in Miami to Scott Conant’s corporate culinary team in New York City. After eight years in Los Angeles—where he opened his own restaurant in Santa Monica—Barros returned to Miami to take the helm as executive chef at Michael Schwartz’s Amara at Paraiso. His expertise and dynamic approach to cuisine earned him the title of Food Network’s Ciao House Season 2 champion, along with features on the Cooking Channel and recognition by Star Chefs. Now, as co-owner and executive chef of Magie Wine Bar, Barros elevates the concept’s food program, crafting an imaginative menu of shareable bites designed to complement Magie’s exceptional wine selection. From caviar corn dogs to house-made sour cream and onion potato chips with caviar and crème fraîche, his dishes redefine the notion of casual dining, adding a playful yet sophisticated touch to Magie’s eclectic experience.
