Chef Andre Rush is a celebrity chef and decorated U.S. Army combat veteran with over 20 years of service. Chef is renowned for being the massive White House chef with his 24- inch biceps who served multiple administrations spanning over 20 years.
Chef Rush used his platform to become a motivational speaker, best-selling author, award-winning Olympic chef and TV personality. He’s an advocate for military service, mental health, fitness, and healthy cooking. Through his advocacy, Chef Rush helps veterans and their families living with PTSD, with ways to cope and ensuring they are not alone.
While serving in the military, Chef Rush was deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. Additionally, Chef Rush has trained over 10,000 troops in the culinary arts and worked as a logistician. Chef Rush also served as a combative trainer, qualifying over 1000 service members and civilians in the art of hand-to-hand combat. He also held various leadership positions to include Chef for multiple POTUS, Senior Advisor to Superintendent of United States Military Academy, Operational Manager and Senior Food Service Manager.
To cope with PTSD, Chef Rush started performing 2,222 push-ups a day, and this action evolved into a symbolic act to spread awareness about the sobering statistics of 22 veterans who commit suicide each day. Because of this, he launched his nonprofit, 2222 Inc., to help kids dealing with the mental stressors of bullying and a changing world. Chef continues to motivate and educate the world on the importance of mental health, food, and supporting each other. His mission is to help others focus on healing and prevention. Some of Chef Rush’s support channels include the Fisher House, Gold Star Families, Blue Star Families, the USO and TAPPS. Additionally, Chef serves as an ambassador for Arnold Schwarzenegger’s After School All-star Kids.
Throughout his career in the military and beyond, Chef Rush has received numerous awards. Chef Rush has competed all over the world in culinary events and accumulated over 150 awards and trophies during his career. Other awards and acknowledgements include: the Bronze star, Legion of Merit, Belgium Peace Medal, selected as the first and only Chef to be inducted into the Weightlifting Hall of Fame, received a commendation from the California Legislature Assembly, the Key to the City of Columbus, Mississippi, and many more.
In April of 2022, Chef Rush added author to his list of accomplishments by releasing, “Call Me Chef, Dammit! A Veterans Journey from the Rural South to the White House.” In his own words, he discusses battling with PTSD, stereotypes, toxic leadership, and overcoming racism from his childhood in Columbus, Mississippi to working at the most famous house in America. Chef has appeared in multiple TV shows to include Kitchen Commando on TUBI and TV One (produced by Gordan Ramsay), Master Chef, Disney Best in Snow, Netflix Culinary Wars, Zombieverse2, and more.
