Executive Chef Oumar Diouf leads the kitchen at Wyn Wyn inside Arlo Wynwood, bringing a globally informed approach shaped by his upbringing, travels and deep respect for flavor-driven cooking. Born and raised in Senegal, he learned to cook at a young age alongside his mother, developing an early appreciation for food as a source of connection. After an injury shifted his path from professional soccer to the kitchen, Diouf trained in Argentina, where he opened his first restaurant in 2008, before continuing his journey through Brazil and the United States. He later ran The Damel in San Francisco, a restaurant recognized for its modern take on African cuisine and featured by outlets including Nasdaq, Vice Media and The Chronicle. Now, at Wyn Wyn, Diouf blends African & Latin and influences into dishes that balance comfort and creativity, with a focus on scratch cooking, presentation and shared experiences.
