Robert Swartz discovered his passion for food at an early age, growing up immersed in the rhythm and energy of his father’s restaurant, Sir Pizza, a beloved establishment that has proudly served its community for over 57 years. Surrounded by kitchens, customers, and the art of hospitality, Robert developed an instinctive understanding of flavor, service, and the magic that happens when food brings people together.
Determined to refine his natural talent, he pursued formal culinary training at Le Cordon Bleu, where he sharpened his technical skills and deepened his appreciation for classical techniques and global cuisine. From there, Robert stepped into some of Miami’s most respected kitchens, including Red Steakhouse owned by Peter Vauthy, a staple of the city’s fine-dining scene, and later worked alongside renowned restaurateur Donatella Arpaia at Noma beach, gaining invaluable experience in high-end culinary execution, leadership, and creative menu development.
Today, Robert brings decades of hands-on experience, refined technique, and bold culinary vision to Yaya, where he has taken the helm with a mission to elevate the dining experience and infuse every dish with passion, precision, and personality. His journey from family-owned pizzerias to elite culinary institutions and celebrated restaurants reflects a chef who honors tradition while constantly pushing boundaries. Robert Swartz is not only a chef, but a storyteller through flavor, blending heritage, innovation, and heart into every plate he creates.
