Christian Barruos-Brens
Chef Christian Barruos-Brens is a young, rising chef and culinary entrepreneur based in Miami, Florida, with deep roots in the Dominican Republic. He is the founder of Chef Christian LLC, a catering and culinary brand known for blending French and Italian technique with Latin-Caribbean flavors to create cuisine that is refined, cultural, and approachable.
Chef Christian is best known for his three-time award-winning Signature Cafecito Brownies, inspired by Dominican coffee culture and recognized at food festivals, media features, and culinary events throughout South Florida. His work has been featured across multiple television networks, news outlets, and digital media platforms, reflecting his growing presence in both the culinary and entertainment spaces.
He is an Emmy Award winner, recognized for his role as a behind-the-scenes chef on the Univision mini-film series La Fuerza de Crear: Dulce Sazón. He was also part of the Roku Channel–winning culinary competition series Batalla en Abuela’s Kitchen, further establishing his experience in food-focused television.
Chef Christian is a VIC Hospitality Scholar and is actively involved with the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau, where he continues to gain leadership experience and industry exposure through professional development and community engagement. In 2025, he graduated with an Associate of Science in Culinary Management from Miami Dade College’s Miami Culinary Institute, where he helped elevate the school’s visibility through television appearances, media coverage, and meaningful community involvement.
Currently, Chef Christian is entering his junior year at Florida International University’s Chaplin School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, where he is pursuing both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees. He continues to balance academic growth with hands-on experience in catering, pop-ups, large-scale events, and media productions.
As a rising TV chef, Chef Christian remains committed to learning, growth, and honoring the cultures that inspire his food. With a strong foundation in technique, hospitality, and storytelling, he is focused on continuing his journey toward becoming a Food Network television chef—representing the next generation of Latin-Caribbean culinary talent with humility, passion, and purpose.
