Pedro Lopez
Born in Lima, Peru, Chef Pedro discovered his passion for food and hospitality early in life. At just 16, he began his culinary journey in Miami Beach, working as a prep cook at the iconic News Café in South Beach. It was there that he built the foundation of his creativity, discipline, and love for the kitchen.
Chef Pedro went on to graduate from Johnson & Wales University in North Miami, excelling in every course and expanding his vision of what it meant to be a chef. His dedication and curiosity opened doors to work alongside some of the industry’s most respected names. At the Loews Hotel South Beach, under Chef Marc Ehler, he immersed himself in the precision and artistry of French cuisine. Later, at the Matador Room in the Edition Hotel, he trained under Top Chef winner Jeremy Ford, mastering the rigorous standards of Jean-Georges’ culinary philosophy.
Pedro’s career continued to rise as he accepted the role of Chef de Cuisine at FRESH Restaurant in the world-renowned Fontainebleau Hotel. His journey then took him to North Carolina with Hilton Hotels, before bringing him back home to Miami Beach.
Today, Chef Pedro leads the distinguished team at Eden Roc Miami Beach and Ocean Social, bringing with him a wealth of experience, creativity, and passion for hospitality. His story is one of resilience, artistry, and dedication to excellence.
