Chef Rita was born and raised in Miami. She spent most of her summers on the beautiful island of Roatan located off the coast of Honduras. There, she developed a love and passion for cooking using fresh tropical ingredients and an array of robust flavors and spices. Chef Rita was inspired by the stories you can tell with every dish. Chef Rita started at the age of 16 working her way up and learning all the tricks and trade of the restaurant industry. She has worked in the restaurant and catering industry for nearly 30 years now. All her culinary experienced pushed her to opened up her own catering company, R Catering & Events LLC.

Today, R Catering & Events aims to give you a flawless and memorable event from start to finish. She puts every effort in all she does in making sure your event is top tier. From small intimate private dinners to galas and destination weddings. Chef Rita was 2022 Judge’s Choice winner of Burger Bash. Shortly after she received M.I.A. Media Group Honoree for South Florida’s Most Powerful and Influential Black Business Leaders of 2022.
